I can't think of many things in the plant world that are more breathtaking than the Turks Cap Lily.  Native to Europe and parts of Asia, this white blooming lily (like the one on the left in the illustration)  grows from three to five feet tall, with large white nodding blooms.  Fall is the time to plant this lily with blooms arriving in June - July.  These lilies were grown from the seeds of my own white Turks Cap Lilies and are in their third year; they should bloom in 2013 and for many years to come.  Sun/part shade, Zones 4-8.
