Keepers of the Garden Gate
Teddy Bean
Teddy Bean likes the garden. In fact, when we first rescued him, he was so frightened that he ran away from us and lived in the garden, unseen by anyone, for several months. I knew he was somewhere in the vicinity and had not disappeared altogether because, from time to time, I found tufts of his hair in my flowers. Although it took a while, he's a most agreeable little fellow now, but he's still shy and wary of strangers. He prefers the garden to anywhere else on earth; I think it's the only place where he really feels safe and happy - a true gardener if there ever was one.
Bandit
Bandit arrived on the scene in May of 2011. He appeared out of nowhere, and from a distance, he looked a lot like an older cat we have, so I didn't even notice him for a while. He may have been lost, but it is more likely that he was tossed out by someone who didn't realize what a great kitten he had on his hands. It didn't take but two seconds to warm up to this little newcomer because he's as sweet as they come. He follows me everywhere I go, and that includes the garden where he finds a place to nestle while I work. We couldn't be happier to have him.
