Heliopsis (False Sunflower), variegated or not, is one of the best summer flowering perennials that I know. Someone I know once called it "Cut and Come Again," and that name is definitely apropos because Heliopsis blooms again and again, all summer long, no matter how often you cut it. This particular Heliopsis has variegated foliage, showy enough on its own, but complemented by the golden yellow ray flowers. Variegated Heliopsis grows from three to four feet tall in full sun, although some of mine are in shade much of the day and seem to do just fine there, too. As a bonus, these flowers are wonderful for summer bouquets. Zones 3-9. Sun/partial shade. Quarts. (Supply limited).
