Campsis radicans is a native woody vine that many consider invasive, particularly in the South. I have grown Trumpet Vine for many years on a support, and it is kept itself in check. If you want a vine that has beautiful glossy green leaves and spectacular red/orange trumpet flowers to brighten a wall, trellis, fence, or other support, then Trumpet Vine will do the trick. Campsis radicans grows from 20 to 30 feet in sun or partial shade in Zones 4-10. One word of caution: some people find that handling the plant can cause skin irritation; however, that has never been my experience. Campsis radicans "Flamenco Red" is a fairly new cultivar that promises to be a drop dead gorgeous red with orange center. It takes a couple of years to get started, once it does, it will take off. The information for this Campsis radicans is the same as above. (Photo by Andrew Bossi, from Wiki Commons). Zones 4-10.
